After twelve years of receiving many great blessings from Christian Science, I am glad to tell a little of what it has done for me. I was a nervous and physical wreck, and had been under a specialist's care for nine months without receiving any relief. When I asked why he could not help me, he gave me this answer: "If I could get control of your mind I could heal you in three weeks' time." As he was also a dear friend, he was told of a deep sorrow through which I was passing, and he used that as his excuse for not proving his skill as a specialit. I immediately asked for his bill and took every bottle and box of medicine I had and emptied them out on the ground. Within two weeks I was led to attend my first Christian Science service through a dear friend telling me she was going to take up Christian Science for herself and her family. From that day to this I have never tasted medicine.

My first healing came about through the reading of Science and Health: I was freed from the necessity of wearing two pairs of glasses. Then I went to a practitiner and was healed of chronic bowel disorder, supposed to have been inherited. Some members of the family had gone through severe operations for this trouble and I was getting ready to do the same when Christian Science came to my help. I had throat trouble in such a severe form that I would nearly choke while waiting for a doctor to give me relief. It took the form of croup, and one doctor said I need not be surprised if I lost my voice after a hard attack. As my mother had passed out from throat throat and lung trouble, it filled me with fear. This ailment also was entirely overcome through Christian Science.

Ten years ago I was taken with influenza. I had been a great sufferer from this ailment every winter, and had been having it some six weeks. I tried osteopathic treatment for two weeks with no results; the doctor was only filling me with fear, as he said I must go to the mountains. I then went to a Christian Science practitioner for help, and in three or four treatments was completely healed. I have never had this trouble since; I have had slight colds, but have always been helped through Christian Science. A year ago an injury to my leg, resulting from a severe fall, was overcome in one treatment, and there were no after effects, as I at first feared. In the past few months I have had much joy over a business demonstration. In a business complication I was helped by a Christian Science practitioner, and a situation involving loss and discord convering a period of over six years was entirely straightened out.
