Brooklyn (N. Y.) Citizen

In a recent issue appeared an account of the malicious attack on Christian Science by an evangelist. This is not a new experience for him, as he has gone up and down the country for several years striving his utmost to destroy this particular form of religion, regardless of the fact that it has become a source of spiritual strength and the inspiration to a happier and holier life for a rapidly increasing army of earnest men and women.

It seems quite pertinent to note in passing that at Logansport, Indiana, the Committee on Public Safety recently forbade such an attack on Christian Science on the ground that it is against public welfare to incite strife and dissension, particularly at a time when the country so much needs harmony and unity of thought and action among its citizens.

The fact seems to have escaped the attention of many religionists, that the most effective, in fact, the only way to destroy Christian Science or any other religious denomination is to give to the world something better—a more practical, because a more direct, way to salvation—and to prove their faith by their works.
