Having been healed by Christian Science, I desire to express...

Having been healed by Christian Science, I desire to express my thankfulness to God through the columns of the Sentinel, so that all may know the great good which has come to me. In February, 1917, I was taken with violent pains, and being unable to obtain relief, my son sent me to a hospital in De Land. After several weeks' treatment there I was sent to a hospital in Jacksonville for an operation. The surgeon who operated on me said that he found a malignant growth so located that it could not be removed safely. I was then returned to the hospital in De Land, and after a week or two was told that I might go home; that I would never be well, and probably would not live very long. I was taken to the home of a friend in De Land for a visit, and the very first day the pains set in again. A Christian Scientist was called and asked to treat me, with the result that in half an hour the pains were gone and I slept. The next morning I found that I was healed, and there has been no return of the trouble. A practicing physician who was a guest at our hotel at the time of my healing, because of seeing my need met through Christian Science, has since that time become an earnest student himself.

I can never cease to thank God for His manifold blessings to me and to my son, and only hope my testimony may be the means of bringing others out of darkness into the light of Truth. I am reading Science and Health daily, and give constant thanks for Christian Science. I am also very grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who made it possible for this great good to come to me.

Mrs. Mathilde J. Powers, De Leon Springs, Fla.
