Among the Churches

Current Notes

County of Durham, England. —The Christian Science literature distributed from this office for the year ended October 31, 1917, consisted of 200 Monitors containing special editorials, 200 reprints, 50 Sentinels containing Mrs. Eddy's poem "The United States to Great Britain." The distribution committee reports the distribution of 40 Sentinels, 10 Journals, and 8498 Monitors.

The secular press in this county has been free from criticism of Christian Science the past year. Two papers mentioned an inquest held in London in January, and one of these gave us the hospitality of its columns for an explanation of the facts. One religious publication contained an attack upon Christian Science, and a reply appeared in the next issue.—Committee on Publication.

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.—The Christian Scientists of this city, having purchased a desirable corner block of land with a frontage of 74 feet to North Quay and 171 feet to Tank Street, have erected thereon the first portion of their church, in which regular services and meetings are now being held.—The Daily Mail.
