The Lectures
Vancouver, British Columbia (First Church).—William W. Porter, lecturer; introduced by Mrs. Katherine English, who said in part:—
In these days of distress of nations, perplexity, and frequent change, people in all countries are feeling the need of a practical religion; they are reaching out for that which will protect and provide for them and those they love, increase their courage, comfort them in sorrow, heal their poverty and sickness, and bring peace to mind and body. Christian Science is showing how this great need of the human race may be supplied. It has been proved to the entire satisfaction of thousands of persons now living that Christian Science does heal the sick and sinning, and that it heals by the same method as that employed by the apostles and by the early Christian church. It heals by that law of God which Jesus the Christ taught and demonstrated so clearly and which he commanded his followers to teach and to demonstrate. The textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, elucidates this divine law of healing.
