I am as yet only a beginner in Christian Science, but am...
I am as yet only a beginner in Christian Science, but am thankful indeed to feel that I have already gained a better outlook on life. I therefore gladly send my testimony of God's great love, in gratitude for the many blessings and benefits ever extended to His beloved children. Truly I have found through this glorious truth the "pearl of great price," and I know that as I keep on holding good thoughts and knowing that the power and presence of divine Principle never leaves us or forsakes us, so shall I gain more of the spiritual strength and understanding of our Father-Mother God, who is All-power.
Christian Science was brought to my notice about three years ago by my dear parents, devoted Christian Scientists, after what to human sense appeared to be my death blow. Through the study of the Bible and that wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, together with the help of a practitioner, I was healed. My dear wife and two children, who are also rejoicing in our heavenly Father's great love, are striving to be more and more devoted to the teachings of Christian Science, which is giving us the wider and better understanding of God's child. As we stand firmer for the truth and become more patient and loving one to another, gentle and kind, and at all times charitable, we hope to raise up the standard of Truth. We have learned that by diligently working, watching, and praying we shall ever grow in grace, strength, courage, and so gain greater health, peace, and happiness.
Since coming to Ireland we have by the help of Christian Science and its many wonderful blessings, such as the literature been enabled to start in business for ourselves. We are thankful to be able to say that God has led us, never failing us, through the wilderness of fear, doubt, and sometimes nearly despair. We are now stronger in faith as a result of trying at all times to demonstrate our faith by our works, through constantly applying the truth as we know it.
