Under the caption "Deceptions and Humbugs" you have included Christian Science. Christian Science is just what its name implies. It is Science because it is a knowledge of Principle and facts which are classified and made available in the application and demonstration of Truth. It is Christian because its teachings instruct those who accept it how to become Christlike in all their ways. Mrs. Eddy, in "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1), has defined Christian Science as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."

The works of Christ Jesus cannot be classified as tricks. The healing of the sick, the halt, and the lame, the reclaiming of the sinner, the restoring to life of the widow's son and others, the feeding of the multitude, and the stilling of the storm were not the result of some superhuman power or sleight of hand. All these were in conformity with divine or spiritual law. The Scriptures recorded Jesus as saying to all those that believe, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." The teachings of Christian Science interpret the Scriptures and instruct mankind in the way the Master intended his works to be understood. This unfoldment of divine Principle, rule, and law can and should be applied to every human experience; and when it is rightly understood and honestly applied, its results are "the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." It is no respecter of persons.
