Springfield (Mass.) Union

A writer in the Union recently referred to Christian Science in commenting on medical inspection in the schools in a manner which left an inference that Christian Scientists do not observe the usual precautions in regard to communicable disease. Investigation of the case about which this was written shows that every precaution was taken by the parents, who were Christian Scientists. The child was kept out of school until the lapse of two weeks required by the board of health, when permission to return was granted by the principal of the school.

Such is the procedure of Christian Scientists. They are law-abiding and observe the sanitary regulations of their communities. No mother need fear to send her child to school because of association there with children having Christian Science in their homes. The teachings of Christian Science are salutary, and its followers strive not to injure but to benefit those about them.
