Soldiers of Liberty
The appellation used to designate all men, on sea and land, who are heroically struggling to free the world from the autocratic clutches of materiality, namely, "soldiers of liberty," has come to be an inspiring title. Our hearts respond with gratitude to the consecration of these men, and our love pours out to them; but have we heard the call of God to join this mighty host, that Truth may reign upon earth?
Whittier voices the summons in these words:—
