I should like to express my gratitude to God for the blessings I have received through the teachings of Christian Science since I began the study of it about five years ago. It was the loss of a much loved relative that drove me to seek for refuge in Christian Science from the many questions relating to mortal existence which had so long puzzled and troubled me. A few weeks after I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," through what I had learned of God's protection I was enabled to take a trip to Egypt with my husband without a thought of anxiety in leaving my two young children, one under a year old. This protection has since been practically demonstrated on countless occasions. When there was a case of measles in my household, the knowledge of the power and protection of divine Love prevented my two young children and the other members of the household, consisting of nine persons in all, from catching it. During this experience, the line occurring in "Mother's Evening Prayer" by Mrs. Eddy (Poems, p. 4), "His arm encircles me, and mine, and all," gave me a sure sense of security.

When I began the study of Christian Science, I had been suffering from a chronic pain in the left side, which I greatly feared was the first stage of a disease; also I rarely knew what it was not to feel tired. After some months I suddenly realized that the pain had not been present for some time, though I could not remember just when it had stopped, and the sense of tiredness had disappeared in like manner. In place of depression and fear, I was filled with happiness at the new outlook on life, and the blessings in store for all in the knowledge of Truth, as revealed to Mrs. Eddy and given by her to the world.
