In a recent issue Assistant Attorney-General Johnson is reported as saying to the suffragists that they had a Christian Science case,—"they only think they have one." We regret that so learned a man does not have a more intelligent concept of Christian Science. Such statements do not give a correct impression of this teaching. Christian Science classifies as real all that God made, all that expresses His nature and character, all that is eternal; it classifies as unreal all that He did not make,—sin, sickness, and death. It denies that sin, sickness, and death have any reality or any abiding place in the divine Mind, but it does not deny or claim that these conditions do not seem real to human experience. Christian Scientists heal the sick in the same way Christ Jesus taught and demonstrated,—by recognizing the supremacy of Spirit over every law of matter. Every instance of the healing of sin and disease through Christian Science is proof that these conditions have no origin in God.
