Among the Churches

Helena, Mont. —The first unit of the Christian Science church edifice in this city is completed, and services will be held there for the first time next Sunday [Oct. 28]. It is located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Rodney Street and has a seating capacity of one hundred and seventy-five. Owing to the expense entailed and present building conditions, it was decided to build only the Sunday school unit this year. Work was begun about July, 1 and has cost close to ten thousand dollars. The funds that have been provided by voluntary subscriptions from those who have been benefited by Christian Science, according to one of the congregation, are more than sufficient to pay all indebtedness incurred, and as soon as the contracts have been completed and the building in formally accepted, it will stand free from debt. First Church of Christ, Scientist, which was organized in the spring of 1900, has held its services in the Unitarian church for several years.—Helena Independent.
San Diego, Cal.—Last Sunday [Nov. 11] services were held at Camp Kearny under the direction of the Christian Science churches of San Diego. At this first service held in Y. M. C. A. hut No. 3, at least two hundred soldiers were present. Arrangements have been completed to hold these services every Sunday morning at nine o'clock. Headquarters have been established at 137 Broadway, Spreckels Theater Building, by the Army and Navy committee of the Christian Science churches in San Diego, acting for the Christian Science churches and societies of southern California.—San Diego Union.
Neillsville, Wis.—Last Sunday [Nov. 11] the Christian Science Society dedicated its new church home. Two services were held, and the offerings, which amounted to fifty dollars, were donated to the War Relief fund. The building cost approximately seventy-five hundred dollars.
