I am very thankful for Christian Science and for the many...

I am very thankful for Christian Science and for the many blessings that have come to my husband and myself through its teaching. Some years ago a very dear friend who was visiting in our home told me of its healing power and what a wonderful help it had been to her. I was having, to mortal sense, a very unpleasant experience from an eruption on my hands, and shall never forget in what a sweet way she asked me why I did not see a Christian Science practitioner, since most everything else had been tried. After her departure some weeks passed before I decided to do this; then I asked for help and in a week was healed.

Time passed and again I went to a practitioner for physical healing alone; then four years ago I really wanted to find peace, and I have most truly found a religion that can be lived each day. For the many healings that have been ours, I am grateful, but I am most thankful for the spiritual uplift and the understanding that God gives only good. I am always glad to be able to say to mankind as did Peter, "Such as I have give I thee," and I realize more fully each day that I have much to give. It is such happiness to have that peace "which passeth all understanding." For our literature, the reading rooms, and the services I am grateful, and it is a privilege to attend the lectures, but I am more thankful than I can find words to express for Mrs. Eddy's ability to make us understand the promises given us in the Bible. I hope to be worthy of being called a Christian Scientist.—Winnie Phillips Stevens, Ypsilanti, Mich.
