For more than ten years I have enjoyed the privilege of...
For more than ten years I have enjoyed the privilege of being a student of Christian Science, and I feel deep gratitude for all the blessings which have come to me through this means. The autumn before becoming interested in Christian Science I had an attack of congestion of the lungs, so lived in constant dread of developing chronic lung trouble. The warning by the doctor to take care never to catch cold, only made me more afraid.
Upon beginning to study Christian Science I did not immediately lose all fear, but realized that either it was right to trust in material remedies for health or it was not, and reached the decision that I must trust God alone to heal me in the future. Gradually my health improved, as I gained a firmer grasp of what Life really is, and for a long time I have been entirely free from fear of this trouble. For years before taking up Christian Science I was almost lame during the winter with chilblains, being unable to go out at times, as I could not bear to have shoes on. This trouble has also vanished, and many other ills have been overcome for me through the understanding of Truth.
Grateful as I am for the physical healing, I am far more grateful for the help Christian Science affords me in the affairs of everyday life. Whenever it has been honestly and understandingly applied to any wrong condition it has proved an unfailing remedy. I am grateful for all the good that comes through The Christian Science Publishing Society, for the joy of being a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church, also for class instruction, and for all the many channels for progress which our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has opened up for us.
Susan Farquharson Campbell, Schenectady, N. Y.
