"We are well able"

JOSHUA the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, alone of the twelve sent to investigate the promised land by Moses, returned a verdict true to the law of progress, as stated by Caleb when he said, "Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it." It is interesting to note the given parentage of these two men who stood firm in their fidelity to the leading of God; and it is equally helpful to find that, although their progress seemed to be temporarily retarded, patience brought victory and final entrance into the land of their hearts' desire.

That to which Mrs. Eddy refers on page 141 of Science and Health as "spiritualized man," and the student's understanding gained by demonstration, unite in bringing to each seeker in Christian Science, at the right time, a clear realization of the truth of being. On page 39 of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," we read, relative to the promised hope of salvation, "Now is the time in which to experience that salvation in spirit and in life." If we are willing to do our Father's will, to leave the fleshpots and materialism of Egyptian bondage behind, without backward longing, in our eagerness to cross the Jordan River of discernment, then He who has led us through the wilderness of human hope will continue to guide, and we may well join in the angelic declaration, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down."
