As the result of my study of Christian Science for the past seven years, I have experienced a wonderful restoration of mental and physical activity, and this after two medical doctors had induced me to abandon my occupation because in their opinion my health was rapidly declining on account of constant mental effort on my part since the days of the Crimean War. My health has not always been perfect during these years, since blood-poisoning, lumbago, bronchitis, and varicose veins have had to be overcome; but the application of the sunlight of Truth removed them quickly as they appeared, so that I have not been confined in bed even for a day during this time. A birth-mark, protruding on my neck and expanding annually during the fruit season, recently disappeared entirely in two days under Christian Science treatment.

It is impossible for me to express in a few words my thankfulness to God for His blessings, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for the revelation of this glorious truth which has revealed the Bible to me in a new light, brought happiness into my home, and convinced me beyond any doubt that right thinking and living, combined with a correct understanding of God, prevents men from being feeble and decrepit during the period of their existence which is called old age.
