Several years ago I obtained a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and read it attentively, not so much for physical healing but because I was hungry for the truth. About this time I was suffering from rheumatism, and on applying to a Christian Science practitioner for help, was quickly healed, although the doctors had failed to give me any relief. Yet in spite of this convincing proof of the healing power of Christian Science, I was still skeptical; I laid the book away and went back to the old beliefs, though I know now that God was leading me all the time.

I withdrew from my old church and for quite a while was without a church home. Then Love led me one day into a Christian Science church in our neighborhood, and I afterward attended it faithfully for three years. I am now a member of both The Mother Church and a branch church. Recently I have been enabled to lay aside glasses, after having worn them for many years. I feel that God has led me through a wilderness of doubt and fear, as were the children of Israel, and has planted my feet on a rock. I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for pointing the way, and also for the light her teaching has thrown on the Bible.
