My first experience with Christian Science was in June, 1907, when I was taken suddenly ill with typhoid fever. One of the best doctors of Oklahoma City, where we were living at the time, was called in, but his medicine did me no good, so a neighbor who was interested in Christian Science asked us to try it. We concluded to do so, and accordingly called a practitioner, with the result that I was soon a well man. I thereupon took up the study of Science and Health, and it has made the Bible a new book to me.

We are now living in the Ozark country of Arkansas, a long way from any Scientists, as far as I know; but God is here, and we find Him an ever-present help. Our son was on the road as traveling salesman for several years, and my wife asked a practitioner if it would be all right to put him in God's care. Her answer was, "Certainly; if you put him absolutely in God's care it will be the best thing you can do." We were indeed glad to do so, with the result that he never was in a railroad accident, but there were many that he missed by being detained or by taking a train earlier than planned. I am truly thankful for the many blessings received through Christian Science, and for Mrs. Eddy's writings.
