As I did not seek Christian Science for physical healing,...
As I did not seek Christian Science for physical healing, my demonstrations of the great truth it teaches are over many of the so-called lesser ailments. Through the study of the Lesson-Sermons and the honest endeavor to give up material beliefs and practices, I have overcome very severe chronic headaches, which material remedies had entirely failed to reach, and attacks of a throat affection which occurred annually. By treatment from a practitioner, malaria of a malignant type, and at another time a heavy cough, accompanied by anemia, were cured. Of these ailments I have medical proof. While I was suffering from anemia, a physician friend who examined me said, "I am glad you are having Christian Science treatment, for medicine can do nothing for this trouble." By simple gratitude to God, and rejoicing that I know the truth which makes me free from material laws, I have been able instantly to heal numerous cuts, bruises, and burns.
Words poorly express my thankfulness for the physical healing, and still less adequately tell of the mental and spiritual improvement. The relief of overcoming the belief in the reality of the pains of matter cannot be compared to the joy of losing the love of the pleasures of the material senses. I greatly rejoice that I am more and more able to find my pleasures in the infinite resources of Soul.
I praise God daily, and thank our dear Leader that it is now possible for this great truth to be applied by so many people all over the world to their every-day problems, great and small.—Harriet Kate Helman Gray, Palo Alto, Cal.
