The Lectures
Frank Bell delivered a lecture on Christian Science in the edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist. William Chamberlain, former city attorney, in introducing the lecturer said:—
Since the earliest days of recorded history, mankind has been seeking for the truth. In the arts and sciences the search has gone on unceasingly and successfully. But in no field of human thought has the desire to know the truth been so earnest and sincere as in that of religion, and though nearly two thousand years have passed since the birth of the greatest teacher of all time, it is inspiring and encouraging to feel that we now have those among us who are learning to know and practise the truth as he knew and practised it, and as we believe he intended us to.—Correspondence.
