I rejoice in the privilege the Sentinel affords of giving my testimony of healing. The testimonies of others have cheered and strengthened me a great many times, and I hope these words may also help some one in need. When sixteen years of age I was examined by a surgeon of high standing, who said I had a "malignant growth of a tumorous nature" and advised an operation within two days, saying the growth was near the heart and should not be allowed to go on. This examination was made in accordance with the wish of my father, who was not a Christian Scientist, but after the diagnosis he consented to my having Christian Science treatment for a time.
The practitioner was steadfast in her faith in God's power, and in the course of a few months I was healed. I did not spend one day in bed, so far as I remember, though at times the pain seemed severe. The healing has been permanent, and I am now a strong, well woman. I only recall the conditions when I want to tell others of my healing, so they too may know that to God there are no incurable diseases and that He loves us all without partiality. I have had the added blessing of class instruction, for which Mrs. Eddy has so lovingly provided, and the association meeting each year is very helpful and corrective, clearing away the mists and establishing lofty ideals of work for the coming year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Publishing Society for the genuine helpfulness of the weekly Sentinel to us here, as we are shut off from communication with many other Scientists. It is surely doing a great deal of good and we are grateful for it. I would also express my appreciation for all the Christian Science periodicals. To one to whom church privileges seem to be denied at present, they are especially full of meaning and joy.
