Since my wonderful healing, nothing gives me greater...
Since my wonderful healing, nothing gives me greater pleasure than to cast my bread upon the waters in the hope that some sufferer may find it, awake to the fact that God is ever present, and realize that he has only to reach out and touch the hem of Christ's garment to be healed. For about two years and a half I had suffered from what is called diabetes. About the first of October, 1913, it became very acute, and I began a rigid diet, as is customary in such cases. On the twenty-first of the month a physician was called, as I was suffering intensely, and he prescribed for me. After further examination, recognizing that medicine would do me no good, he put me on a more rigid diet ; but I grew steadily worse, losing weight all the time. My family and friends became alarmed, for I seemed to be doomed.
About this time a Christian Scientist called and asked me if I knew anything about Christian Science. I told him I had heard of it but did not have much faith in it. He left a pamphlet or two and recommended that I take up the reading of Science and Health. I ran through a portion of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, but did not seem to grasp the truth. Finally, however, my wife insisted so much that I called a practitioner, and in three treatments I was entirely healed. I have gained in flesh and never in my life felt better physically. Now "I know that my redeemer liveth" and that He is ever present. I shall never cease to praise Him.
