War Relief Fund

While the generous contributions of Christian Scientists in this country for the relief of their brethren—and non-Scientists as well—in Europe have enabled the committees appointed to distribute the fund to alleviate the prevailing distress, the need for assistance is still apparent. As announced in the annual report of the Treasurer of The Mother Church, who is also acting as Treasurer of the war relief fund, "further contributions will be gratefully received." As the sum previously contributed is now practically exhausted, prompt action on the part of our people will be doubly appreciated. Contributions should be designated as intended for the war relief fund, and sent direct to Adam H. Dickey, Treasurer, 103 Falmouth St., Boston, Mass.

The following excerpts from a few of the letters that have been received by the Treasurer, are eloquent in their appreciation of the relief already extended, and afford a glimpse at least of the conditions still to be met.

"On behalf of us all I beg to thank you very heartily for this new sum purposed to allay the distress caused by the war. We are very happy to have been enabled already to do much good in relieving many distressed families. All who have been helped by this fund feel deeply grateful to The Mother Church and to all the dear contributors, and we are requested to transmit you their thanks. This new sum which you have sent, even without being asked for it, stands out as a new proof for us that 'divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need' (Science and Health, p. 494)."
