Six years ago I was a miserable invalid with no hope of recovery, and in addition a great sorrow had come to me. I had been treated by many doctors, among them four of the leading nerve specialists in London, but they failed to cure me. As a last resource I thought I would try Christian Science, though I had no great faith in it and no knowledge of its teachings.

I was put in the way of obtaining a copy of Science and Health, and after reading a few pages found I was healed. Naturally my gratitude was intense, so I began to study that wonderful book, and I find as the years roll on that it becomes more and more enlightening and makes the Bible inexpressibly more helpful than ever before. Christian Science teaches us to make a friend of God. Nothing is too trivial to lay before Him, and a load of care and responsibility is lifted from us when we rely on His guidance in all things. I so often feel inclined to rejoice, and do rejoice, in this happy feeling of God's nearness.

Quite lately one of my eyes became dim. The dimness was just over the retina, so that if I closed the other eye it was difficult to read. At first I was filled with fear and foreboding, but I worked very hard to put it out of thought and clung to God as the All-power. This I did for several days, and would not allow myself to dwell upon the difficulty or to test the sight. After about a week, with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, to my great joy I found that the mist had cleared away and my eye had become almost normal. I again thank the Giver of all goodness for His loving care, and also for sending us a knowledge of Christian Science through His servant, Mrs. Eddy.
