I am very grateful for the healing power of Truth as manifested through Christian Science. The proof God's all-power came to me through the healing of my mother, who is eighty-eight years old. Some three years ago she became very ill, and I sent at once for a Christian Science practitioner, who gave her a treatment the next day; but she seemed to get worse, and as some friends who were visiting at our home at that time thought it was awful that no physician was called, fear overcome me and I called in a doctor. He said he could not do much for her, but left a prescription, which, however, I did not have filled. He told a friend of mine that my mother had acute lung trouble.

I then called up the Christian Science practitioner and told her all about it and what I had done. She said it was all right, and then took up the thought for my mother, saying we would work for her just for today and let tomorrow take care of itself. My mother began to improve and soon was quite well, until one day she began to have trouble with her limbs and was not able to walk. Help was again called for in Science, and in two treatments she was healed. Some time after this, she fell one day, cutting her hands and face, and her arm began to swell and turn black, so I at once declared the truth to the best of my understanding, and read to her from the Bible and Science and Health all night, when the pain stopped. In the morning I called up the practitioner, as the arm was still badly swollen. After the first treatment the swelling began to go down, and two days later my mother was able to dress herself and be around again. For all this I am indeed thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who brought this truth to us in such a practical way.
