As I look back to the many blessings received through Christian Science, I feel I should express my gratitude through the Sentinel. At one time I was bitterly prejudiced against this religion, but "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and at a dark hour, when I was greatly in need of physical healing, a dear friend came to visit among us. She had experienced a wonderful healing through Christian Science, and I did not doubt what she told me, but I said, "Oh, I could never give up my God," for I was at that time an active church-member. My friend, however, told me that I need not give up anything, for this teaching would only help me to be a better Christian. I therefore finally consented to let her try to help me, and had her order a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" for me, as she said if I read this with the Bible I would be healed. The result was that in about a month I discovered I was getting better, and with the greatest joy I also recognized that I was learning to know God aright.
I am now well, and rejoicing in the truth each day. My children, a boy twelve years of age and two girls ten and seven years old, have never tasted medicine. They have had attacks of illness to which children are believed to be subject, but these have always been overcome through Christian Science. For the spiritual and physical healings I am thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy.
