Light

To a great many people human existence has seemed like the groping about in a tunnel which is dark, but which has never been entirely without light. Christianity and other uplifting influences have been at work through the ages, and they have meant that one has seen in the distance, though sometimes very faintly, the light at the end of the tunnel bespeaking the glorious daylight beyond and above.

Christian Science has been given to the world by a brave woman, who believed that obedience to God is the highest function of life; and through what she has made known to us, the light in the distance has been thrown upon our path. Although humanity still seems to have to walk in the tunnel of materiality, Christian Science has brought "a great light," which has already meant to thousands health and happiness that would not otherwise have been theirs; and to those who felt they possessed these, it has brought an increased sense of harmony, with the inspiring certitude for all of the ultimate realization of perfection.

What a glorious privilege it is at our Wednesday evening meetings to be able to say what this light has been to us, and thus make known what it can do for all! Not a single ray of it should be ignored. This light has come in no mysterious way; it has come in clear, distinct mental enlightenment, dissipating our fears and making us conscious of the omnipotence of good. This spiritual understanding is what so many have longed for and have striven to attain, but without the aid of Christian Science it seemed impossible.
