I am thankful to God that through the efforts of friends I was induced to read Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I had trouble with my eyes, and my sight became so affected that I could not read even the plainest of print, and could not recognize my most intimate friends a few feet away. This made it very hard for me to do my work. My friends wanted me to consult a Christian Science practitioner, but I could not believe that anything could restore my impaired vision, as several eye specialists had failed to do me any good. Finally, however, as a last resort, I called on a Christian Science practitioner of this city, and through her help I began to have a better and clearer understanding of God's work. The Bible and Science and Health had to be read to me by my wife, and the more I heard the more I felt that at last I was going to receive the good desired. One night, upon retiring, my eyes were about as usual, but the next morning, while at my place of business, on glancing across the street I found that I could read a sign which I had never been able to see before. I then hastily picked up a newspaper and could read that too. Surely, God is good.

The healing has been permanent, and since then I have relied on Christian Science in all cases of sickness. The more I read the Bible and the Christian Science text-book the less wonderful the healing appears, because the good is for us if we will only accept it. I am more thankful every day for the many blessings my family and I have received through Christian Science.—A. G. Griffey, Shelbyville, Ind.
