I should like to express some of the gratitude I feel for the healing that has come to me through Christian Science. Ten years ago, when I first heard of Mrs. Eddy's discovery, I was suffering from an acute form of mental depression, accompanied by such physical prostration that sometimes for months I was hardly able to move in bed without help. I had suffered in this way for a great many years, and although I had undergone an operation, had tried baths, massage, and the "rest-cure" several times, I was in no way helped, beyond the relief that I received from the unfailing kindness of my doctor. In this condition I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and to have treatment from a Christian Science practitioner.
For a long time my recovery was so slow as to be practically imperceptible, but it has been so complete that now I never have the slightest return of the mental depression and confusion from which I previously suffered. It is not possible for me to tell from what a condition of distress I have been lifted. My healing came through understanding, in a small degree, the teachings of Christ Jesus, and that I have been able to understand them sufficiently to recover, I owe solely and entirely to Christian Science.
