I am filled with gratitude for the blessings which have come...
I am filled with gratitude for the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. In 1908 my right arm was operated on, and later another incision was made, but on that day I was led to find God through people who until then were strangers to me. I asked them to give me some soup, as I was hungry, and so they did. I was then told by them about Christian Science and the Herold, and the truth was explained to me. These explanations filled me with joy, and I leaned, so to speak, on the truth thus imparted. I was not hungry any more, for the joy which I experienced as I sat listening in their kitchen satisfied me. I went home feeling light-hearted and as if I beheld the world for the first time, and my husband rejoiced over me. Three days later, when I went to the physician by appointment, he said, "Why, your arm is healed!" and manifested surprise; but I did not tell him of my experience as to the healing power of Truth. When I left him, I went back to the Christian Science people in order to learn more about God. I was given a copy of the Herold, which I read diligently, as well as a Christian Science pamphlet, and I strove to grasp the meaning of what I read. Since that time I have experienced help in many instances with my husband and children through the truth. I prayed earnestly to God, and my prayers have been availing. My husband has stopped drinking, I have broken myself of the habit of using profane language, and everything has improved and become more beautiful.
I am deeply thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy and to my dear helpers. I have secured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and also of the Bible, in order to learn more of this truth and improve myself.
