Through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of so-called paralysis of the left side of the body. This was done without any help from a practitioner. During eight years twenty-one physicians had tried to cure me. I had always been exceptionally well, until I began to have pain in the head so constant and excruciating that I could not even sleep, except for a few moments at a time. Physicians called the trouble meningitis, and it lasted in its severity for twenty-seven months, when it was followed by so-called paralysis.

During those eight years under materia medica I became well enough at times to walk about four blocks and could use the arm on the afflicted side a little better than the leg; but I was left so bound down by medical and material laws and limitations that I was practically an invalid, with the desires of one in the twenties but physically like one in the eighties. I finally became convinced that physicians could not cure me, and it was then that I began the reading Christian Science literature which brought about my healing. For more than two years I have daily gone up and down stairs as I wished, whereas when under materia medica a half dozen steps taken occasionally, not daily, kept me chair-bound. Now, no matter how long I am standing or walking, I feel no discomfort, either at the time or afterward, while formerly the least exertion caused great pain for a long time. This was only one of numberless limitations resulting from the so-called paralysis from which Christian Science freed me.

This healing took place about four years ago. Since then I have relied entirely on Christian Science and am still perfectly well. It has been proven to me that just to the degree that I both understand and apply this interpretation of the Bible all my needs are met. My husband has been in Science for two years, and has received immeasurable help and healing, physically, financially, and morally.
