I must speak of the love I have for Christian Science with its wonderful teachings. The first time its healing efficacy was proved to me was when my niece was ill with typhoid fever. She was under the doctor's care but refused to take medicine, so the doctor himself recommended Christian Science after he had given up all hope. As our entire family knew nothing of this teaching, some were doubtful, others were willing. A practitioner was called, and in one treatment the child was sitting up and asking for food. In a short time she was entirely healed. This made a deep impression on me and I longed to know more of Christian Science.
Three months later the longing was gratified in the healing of a terrible burn on my little girl. I was dressing her, when in some manner she fell, with one arm on a hot stove close by. Her screams were pitiful, and the thought came to me to try Science. My husband rushed to the nearest telephone for help. In ten minutes the child was peacefully sleeping and the burn caused no suffering, while in three weeks it was perfectly healed, and today no one would know the arm had ever been burned.
Since then the blessings we have had are countless, and we are all thankful for this saving truth, which we use constantly. The text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, speaks like something which once heard is never forgotten, and we hold a loving gratitude to its author for bringing this great spiritual light to humanity.—Jessie Ware, Stockton, Cal.
