Among the Churches
Current Notes
Berkeley, Cal. —Having outgrown its present location at Athens Hall, 2740 College Avenue, Third Church of Christ, Scientist, will hold services in the Twentieth Century Club House, 2716 Derby Street, beginning next Sunday [Oct. 3]. The church was organized last December, and Athens Hall, with a seating capacity of three hundred, was secured for the services. The Twentieth Century Club House will accommodate six hundred people.
Second Church of Christ, Scientist, was organized less than two years ago, holding services the first year at the Hillside Club. Last January, when it was necessary to secure larger quarters, the High School auditorium, seating twelve hundred, was leased, and the lease has been renewed for 1916.
First Church of Christ, Scientist, occupies one of the finest church structures in the city, costing sixty thousand dollars, at the corner of Dwight Way and Bowditch Street. The organization of Second and Third Churches was made necessary by the large congregations at First Church.
