Having enjoyed the benefits and privileges of Christian Science...

Having enjoyed the benefits and privileges of Christian Science for almost eight years, I am glad to testify to numerous healings in that time. One Saturday evening in lifting a heavy object my ankle received a severe blow. For a minute the pain seemed unbearable, then I promptly forgot all about the incident.

About two hours afterward the ankle began to swell and became inflamed, so that I could not touch the foot to the floor. It was very painful during the early part of the night, and although I kept working mentally as we are taught to do in Christian Science, there did not seem to be much improvement, and I wondered if it would be necessary to call some one over the telephone for help. Then I thought and declared immediately that I did not need to go anywhere or get anybody for help, for my help was right there. The Bible says that God is "a God at hand," and not afar off. With a few other thoughts along the same line I began to feel quieter and could rest my foot in one position, which I had not been able to do before, and shortly afterward fell asleep. In the morning I could not get to church, but Sunday afternoon I was able to go down-stairs by leaning on something. The next day I could get around without any support, and that evening walked eight or ten blocks with members of my family. By Wednesday all traces of the injury had disappeared. Having suffered for weeks with a similar injury before coming into Christian Science, I realized anew what a great blessing spiritual healing is.

I am sincerely grateful for all sources through which added understanding is coming to me each day, and especially so to Mrs. Eddy, our faithful and courageous Leader through whom these were all made possible. Christian Science has been our only stay through many trials and difficulties, and it has never failed us. I trust this testimony will be helpful and encouraging to other seekers for Truth.
