The Lectures

Clarence C. Eaton delivered three lectures on Christian Science for Eighth Church of Christ, Scientist. Alice Nichols, second reader, in introducing Mr. Eaton at one of the lectures said:—

The occasion of a Christian Science lecture is significant. The fact of our being here is evidence that we are looking for that for which the whole world has searched,—a demonstrable religion, a religion whose law applied to the affairs of men should bring harmony and health, and destroy sorrow and sickness.

At one point or another in history some one's achievement stands out as of greater or less importance in this direction. In the early history of the Hebrew nation Abraham perceived the great verity that there is one God and that God is Mind, Spirit, able to lead and direct men and nations. He demonstrated this truth when he obeyed the call to come out from the midst of his idolatrous surroundings to follow God's leading in the establishment of the kingdom of Israel.
