Twelve years ago, at a time when there were many difficulties to contend with and I was hungering and thirsting for the truth, Christian Science was presented to me. The church in which I had been brought up failed to give me the needed comfort and relief, while the God I had been taught to believe in seemed far away and my prayers of little avail. I did not come into Christian Science for the physical healing, although frequently suffering from nervous breakdown for which materia medica could do nothing. When I began to study Christian Science the light at once dawned upon my thought, bringing with it a sense of peace and joy such as I had never experienced before. All my life I had been in bondage to fear of every kind, but this beautiful new yet old truth set me free, and my ailment has never returned. However, the physical relief is not to be compared to the spiritual uplift, for which I thank God and am unceasingly grateful to our dear Leader.
