Why a writer in a recent issue should refer to autosuggestion...

Why a writer in a recent issue should refer to autosuggestion as a "sort of Christian Science," it is hard to imagine, for there is nothing in common between them. The latter, discovered by Mrs. Eddy, is the Science of absolute truth taught and practiced by Jesus, and referred to by him in Luke when he said, "If I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you." Autosuggestion is the exercise of human will-power, the effort to displace one false belief by another equally false. The kingdom of God has never come upon any one through autosuggestion. The cure for stage-fright will be found in the understanding which Christian Science gives of our Master's declaration, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This is the only way to real freedom.
