It is with the deepest gratitude that I give this testimony...
It is with the deepest gratitude that I give this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. I turned to it first for the healing of a badly strained throat, for which I was about to undergo an operation. Although able to understand very little of the spiritual import of Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I felt certain that it contained the truth, the healing, and the peace of God's word, and after treatment I found that my voice and throat were stronger than they had ever been before. I have used my voice a great deal since then, and its fulness and strength have always been apparent. Christian Science has also healed me of minor ailments, such as headache, cold, and toothache. Then too I have been able to lay aside glasses which had been worn incessantly for over thirteen years.
Wonderful as this physical healing has been to me, it is nothing compared with the change that is taking place in my thought. Christian Science has brought me a greater happiness and peace than I ever knew or dreamed of. More and more I realize the unfailing help and joy it is to be able to turn in all moments of doubt and difficulty to a God who is Love. I know now that God does not send our trials and diseases, but that they are the results of our own wrong thinking, and that instead God is "a very present help in trouble," always at hand and giving all good freely to those who turn in trust and confidence to Him.
I could not conclude this testimony without saying how grateful I am to those who have led me into the way of Truth, for their patience and loving-kindness; also for those wonderful messengers of good tidings to all mankind, the Journal, the Sentinel, and the Monitor. At this time in particular the Monitor is proving the greatest blessing in this country, bringing its healing message of Love and Truth, and it is surely one of the greatest educational factors in the world.
