I am most deeply grateful to be able to testify to the many...

I am most deeply grateful to be able to testify to the many blessings which I have experienced through Christian Science. Three years ago I was taken ill with a very painful stomach trouble, and being able to eat only special kinds of food, I became so emaciated and lost so much in strength that it was impossible for me to attend to my household duties, small though they were.

It was then that I learned of Christian Science through a relative. Although I was rather diffident at first with regard to this new teaching, I called on a Christian Science practitioner, after I had attended the meetings several times, and asked for treatment. The very same day I ate food which had been strictly forbidden by the physician, and did not diet thereafter, having attained to the firm conviction that God alone is my helper and that He bestows harmony and health on every one of His children. Within four days I was entirely well, felt better than previous to my illness, and have had no trouble with my stomach since. With a few treatments I have also been healed of severe hemorrhages, from which I had suffered for many years and which in the physicians' opinion could be stopped only by means of an operation. The recognition of the fact that nothing can be lost in Mind, that God's children cannot sustain a loss, made it possible for me to recover a rather valuable object which was believed to have gone astray.

For these as well as for innumerable other proofs of the power of divine Love I am most deeply grateful. My endeavor shall be to grow in understanding, that I may at all times be able to lay hold on the good which is always nigh. Next to God I am profoundly grateful to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader, who was fitted to bring this sound teaching to the world.
