Permit us to call your attention to the reference to Christian Science...

Brooklyn (N. Y.) Times

Permit us to call your attention to the reference to Christian Science in a recent editorial entitled "Gentle Feminine Influence," in which you assume that Christian Science and mental suggestion are similar. For your information, we beg to say that the human mind has no part in the teachings or practice of Christian Science. It is the human mind which makes discord, and that which makes discord obviously cannot destroy it. Jesus said, "Not my will, but thine, be done." In other words, he knew it was not the human mind, but the Mind which is God, good, that enabled him to do the works he did. Almost every page of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, has some reference to the necessity of overcoming the human with the divine before the teachings of Christian Science can be demonstrated.
