It is with a heart full of thankfulness to God for Christian Science...
It is with a heart full of thankfulness to God for Christian Science that I send this testimony to tell how I have been led from what seemed everlasting darkness and despair into the realm of heavenly light, peace, and the joy of good health to me and mine. For years I had been troubled with a nervous affection which at times of severe mental strain caused me to have fainting spells. Doctors treated me constantly for these, although they were not frequent; but I seemed to find no relief from the haunting fear of having one of these attacks and was always expecting them.
After my marriage I had several operations but found no relief. I, however, had no fainting spell for five years, until after the passing away of my new-born baby, several years ago, when I became a nervous wreck. I was in such a condition that it took me three or four hours each morning after arising to become enough relieved of my dazed condition to venture upon the street, and ofttimes I had to return to the house for fear I would collapse. Almost constantly I had to resort to stimulants for relief. Physicians, after a thorough examination, said I needed another operation; so one was performed, but no relief resulted. In sheer despair I felt that the only thing left for me was to do away with myself.
A friend of mine had just become interested in Christian Science, and as she had been healed she advised me to try this treatment also; but being a Jewess, and taught to consider the very name of Jesus as a symbol of wrong, I did not think any good would come of it. Finally, however, when I had gone to the depths of despair, I decided to have Christian Science treatment, and as a result, today I am a well woman. I have not taken a drop of medicine or consulted a physician for almost three years, nor have I had a fainting spell since May 15, 1911. I am now perfectly well, attend to my duties, and accomplish all that I set out to do without any trouble whatsoever. All this I owe to Christian Science.
