I wish to express my most sincere gratitude for all the good that has come to us within the last six years through Christian Science, and my earnest desire is that this testimony may prove a means of help to some fellow being who is still laboring under a sense of grief and physical distress.

Prior to my acquaintance with the teachings of Christian Science, darkness seemed to enshroud my life. As far back as I can think we had to contend with a serious case of illness in our family, and the years of worry and sorrow had so much affected me that I was unable to sleep, and I suffered with headaches almost day and night, besides having a dreadful ringing in the ears. Our family physician was unable to afford help, and when my condition became almost unbearable, I consulted a noted ear specialist, who after a thorough examination told me that my nerves were so run down that I would lose my hearing completely within a measurable space of time and would be incapacitated for any work, unless I did all within my power to tone up the system.

I then resorted to a great many means of improvement, but they all failed, and finally, in a state of great dejection, I went to see a noted specialist for nervous diseases. He prescribed all kinds of remedies, which were faithfully used, and I remained under his care for over a year. During this time my general health gradually improved, but the distress in the ears remained. I had also suffered since childhood from a stomach difficulty in a severe form, and had taken remedies constantly, but failed to experience improvement.
