Pittsburgh (Pa.) Dispatch
Mankind has not yet arrived at that state of perfection demanded by Christ Jesus, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect," but we are daily striving for that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," knowing that through that Mind alone it is possible to attain perfection. Our critic says, if we accept one half of a Biblical statement, we must also accept the other half. We agree with him in this respect. Therefore, when Christ commands his followers to preach the gospel and heal the sick, why should we ignore the latter half of that command; and why should we be cruelly abused by the critic for trying to obey it?
