I wish to express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude...
I wish to express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for the new hope that has sprung up in my heart since coming into Christian Science. After traveling from the South to the far West in the search for health, and being under a doctor's care, I was told that I would never be well again. I was ready to give up, when a friend came to me and advised me to try Christian Science. As she was leaving she said that she was going to ask her mother to treat me, and I replied that I did not care what she did; but to my surprise, in three days I was much better. In three weeks I was out of doors and walked over two miles, completely healed of a tubercular condition of the bowels and lungs. Thus we learn through the blessings we receive that God is our strength at all times, and nothing can hinder our progress.
I am most happy to say that my healing has been permanent, for nearly twelve years have passed since then, and my earnest desire is to be more humble and grateful for the blessings that have come to me during this time. I am very thankful to say that Truth is daily guiding me, and helping me to be more awake to the helpful lessons in our daily reading. I hope this testimony will help some one to realize that the best is still before us, that the past has nothing to do with the work of today, so we must work out our problems with a cheerful heart, realizing that Love lights our way.
