I am glad to express my gratitude through our periodicals for what Christian Science has done for me. From the time that I can remember I had constant trouble and pain in my left ear. About seven years ago I went out to skate one morning, but came in at eleven o'clock and complained to my mother about earache. She put some medicine in the ear, and I lay down and fell asleep. Three hours later, when I awoke, I found the left side of my face slightly swollen, and by Sunday afternoon the swelling had spread to the back of my ear. My parents did everything for me that they knew how to do, but the swelling remained, and seeemed to affect the entire body, so that when I wanted to sit up in bed I had to be helped.

The following Wednesday a physician who was called said that I must be taken to the hospital immediately, to be operated on, as an abscess had formed in the ear. After the operation the left side of my face was paralyzed and I had lost the hearing of my left ear. The doctor who performed the first operation wanted to perform a second, but my parents objected to this. We then learned of a specialist for diseases of the ear, nose, and throat, whose services were engaged. For three weeks he treated the ear twice a day, thereafter once a day for one year. For three years I took treatments from this doctor, but found little relief.

We then heard of Christian Science through a friend whose son had been healed by it. My parents engaged the services of a practitioner, and after my first treatment I removed a tube from my ear which had been kept there for some time. I continued treatment in Christian Science for about one and a half months, by which time the ear was completely healed, the facial paralysis had also disappeared, and I have enjoyed perfect health ever since.
