As I have received many blessings from the teachings of Christian Science, I would like to tell of at least one experience with the hope of helping some one else. Two years ago my daughter, then twelve years of age, came home from school with what seemed to be a serious throat trouble. I gave her Science and Health to read, and did such mental work for her as my understanding permitted; but in the morning she was apparently worse, having high fever and much pain. I called a practitioner, but for three days she seemed to be now better, now worse. At the end of that time, however, the fever had left and the throat was almost well. The fourth day I decided to send her to school, but the principal told me that all children who had throat trouble would have to be examined on account of scarlet fever having broken out in the school. The doctor came and examined the child, but could find no trace of this fever. He said, however, that he would have to quarantine her for a time, as the disease might develop, and that the younger child, then nine years old, would have to be kept home from school, as she had come in contact with the disease.

The practitioner was called, and work in Christian Science was taken up immediately; but about midnight the younger child became very ill with throat trouble and biliousness, and by morning a severe case of scarlet fever was in evidence. Treatment in Christian Science was continued, and by noon the fever was gone and the child was well, with the exception of the peeling of the skin, which both children experienced. There were no after effects. They were quarantined for twenty-one days, but there was no manifestation of ailment or lack of freedom. The time was spent in study, sewing, games, and the reading of Christian Science literature. Apart from obedience to the law, we felt no need of quarantine. This healing proved to me that Christian Science heals all forms of disease; it also proved to me that "Love is reflected in love" (Science and Health, p. 17), for during the time of quarantine the different health commissioners and doctors called and expressed nothing but respect for our faith.

All this shows me the omnipotence and infinite goodness of God, infinite Mind. I am very grateful to our dear Leader, who has made it possible for us to understand the truth about man's real being as the child of God.
