If those who indulge in public comment on the subject of Christian Science would only take the trouble to inform themselves as to its teachings and practise, there would be no occasion for complaint, because men have an undoubted right to express their honest opinions concerning differences of belief.
In a reference I have read, in a recent issue, to the speech made by Lord Sandwich at University College, mention is made of Christian Science, which is classed among "methods" which profess to heal by the manipulation of the mind.
A contributor, under the caption, "Ideas of a Plain Man," after having stated that "the history of civilization is the story of a long conflict with pain," among other things says, "We have even produced a sect that denies that there is any suffering in this world.
The
fact that church attendance has so largely fallen off in late years has greatly disturbed church people, and many have been the expedients tried for the purpose of reversing this condition, the latest being the "Go-to-church Sunday" movement which is now holding the attention and the hopes of so many religious people.

the fourth chapter of II Kings we find the beautiful story of the widow who in her deep trouble went, not to a money-lender, but to Elisha the prophet, of whose spiritual power she was not ignorant; for even at that early day it was recognized that knowledge is power.
The
Scripture saying, "None of us liveth to himself," has always been seen to be ethically true, and today it is becoming manifest that it is also economically true; that is to say, the Christian call to fraternalism is being enforced by the requirements of self-protection.

As I have received many blessings from the teachings of Christian Science, I would like to tell of at least one experience with the hope of helping some one else.
