It is with a heart filled with gratitude that I give this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me and mine, trusting that it will bring hope to some one who is struggling along as I was sixteen years ago. For several years my husband suffered from stomach trouble, though under the care of many physicians, the last one telling him that he could live only about three months longer. He then turned to Christian Science for help and was healed instantaneously. He bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and asked me to read it, as some one in Chicago had told him that people were sometimes healed in this way.

I had been sick for nearly eight years with the same diseases from which my mother and grandfather died, and had been under the care of many physicians, but had grown worse all the time. Desiring to be true to the faith in which I had been educated from childhood, I began the study of Christian Science with fear, but after reading the Lord's Prayer and its spiritual interpretation, as given on page 16 of Science and Health, I realized that I had nothing good to give up, but a great deal to gain. When I learned that God is our Father-Mother, it dawned on me that I could not inherit disease or anything unlike God, good. After studying for about eight weeks, I was completely healed of what the doctors called heart trouble, dropsy, a paralytic affection, and nervous exhaustion. At that time a large basketful of medicine was thrown away, and we have not used any since then.

We had one child, seven years old, who had taken medicine all his life for a weak stomach, and he was healed through the little knowledge we gained in two months' study. One year later another boy was added to our family. He is now fifteen years old and has never taken any medicine. The diseases which other children usually experience, such as measles, chicken-pox, whooping-cough, etc., have not come near him.
