Among the Churches

Current Notes

Salamanca, N. Y. —The Christian Science "clean journalism" booth and rest room at the recent Cattaraugus county fair was a wonderful demonstration of God's allness, there being a bountiful supply of everything, from the time the first move was made to the last. The Christian Scientists throughout the county responded in every way, in time, money, and with their presence at the booth for work, and we had a plentiful supply of people from all parts of the county who were willing, some glad, and others anxious, to get the literature. We distributed 1600 Monitors, 800 Journals and Sentinels, and 142 pamphlets.—Correspondence.

Vinalhaven, Maine.—At the annual fair given by the Pleasant River grange of this place, the Christian Science church of Vinalhaven had a rest tent on the fair-ground. Over a hundred Monitors, fifty Sentinels, and a dozen Journals, together with various pamphlets, were distributed, and received with evident appreciation. The members of the grange were very kind to the Scientists attending, and cooperated with them so far as to have the tent brought there, set up, and returned without any trouble or expense to the church.—Correspondence.

Lima, Ohio.—First Church of Christ, Scientist, inaugurated a new feature at the fair this year, and one that was much appreciated. A rest room was maintained under a commodious tent, and it was one of the most cozy places on the grounds. It was taken advantage of by many women and children. The free distribution of Christian Science literature, and the many little acts of kindness, made every one happier.—Lima Times-Democrat.
