Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that "Science can heal the sick, who are absent from their healers, as well as those present, since space is no obstacle to Mind" (p. 179). This was proved true in my own case. Over five years ago, while living in Detroit, Mich., my left eye became ulcerated, and physicians told me that I ought to have it treated by a specialist, for they said I was in danger of losing the eye if I did not attend to it. I saw a specialist, though I did not let him treat me. However, I tried material remedies for about two weeks, but receiving no help, decided to try Christian Science, and wrote to a Scientist in Boston, stating my case, and asking for treatment. When she replied that she would treat me, I threw away all material remedies, and within ten days my eye was cured, and I have had no return of the trouble.

Soon after this experience I became more interested in Science, and since then have been able to demonstrate the healing power of Christ, Truth, for myself many times, and somewhat for others. I am very thankful to God for all I have received through Christian Science, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for bringing to the world anew this truth which makes men free.
